Nelsons Ridge is in Blue Township in Pottawatomie County, Kansas. Nelsons Ridge is located two miles east of Manhattan, Kansas. From there, take US Hwy 24 east, turn north on Green Valley Road, and go approximately one mile to Nellie Drive to arrive at the main entrance of the subdivision. Manhattan, Kansas is a college community, home to Kansas State University where many of our residents work or go to school, complemented by nearby Fort Riley, and located in the beautiful northern Flint Hills region. Manhattan is the county seat of Riley County with a population of more than 50,000 that serves as a regional hub for shopping, health care, education, entertainment and communication. Nelsons Ridge is located in Pottawatomie County, Kansas which is a growing county, population of 23,298 (KS Secretary of State 2016), with a continued expansion of new construction in the housing markets and business sectors.
To the west of the City of Manhattan is Fort Riley, home of the legendary 1st Infantry Division, "The Big Red One." Many of our residents are stationed or work at Fort Riley. It is also the home of the new Irwin Army Community Hospital (IACH) which opened in 2016 serving over 50,000 active duty service members, their families, and retired military families.
Nelsons Ridge subdivision is covenanted-protected community which will have 400 homes when completed. It is governed by the Nelsons Ridge Home Owner’s Association, Inc. by a Board of Directors and an Architectural Control Committee. It prides itself on being a friendly and aesthetically appealing neighborhood with developing recreation areas that are restricted to the use of homeowners and tenants.

Manhattan-Ogden Unified School District 383 school district serves Nelsons Ridge Subdivision. Children in grades K-5 attend Oliver Brown Elementary School, and grades 6-8 attend Eisenhower Middle School. Students in grades 9-12 are at Manhattan High School West campus. There are also several accredited private schools in the area. Flint Hills Christian School is located about a half mile from Nelsons Ridge on Green Valley Road, well within walking distance. They offer K-12. Manhattan Catholic Schools serve Pre-K thru 8th Grade.
